This wouldn't happen to be the area there where that giant unused parking lot is is it?

Good.....always wondered why they put in a big parking lot there & then never had it open for parking. Though I kind of wish that the proposal with the grocery store was chosen, oh well, hope whatever goes in spurns more development in that area.

They are probably right about the jobs and taxes, but I wonder if the hotel would have done more for the other South Side Works businesses. Of course if they can still do that too (as noted in the article), then fine.

I don't think the parking demand is high enough to justify opening that lot for parking? I think they just want you to use the garages.

Well, there is about to be construction on a new hotel on the riverfront next to Hofbrahaus. However, I'm not sure if it was supposed to be extended stay or not.

I think the businesses in the Works need all the help they can get (ideal would be a big new residential project, but extended-stay is not bad for that purpose).

The ALDI across the street from American Eagle / LA Fitness (mid December) will do just fine IMO.
