Some may feel that this is a bad move. Personally I like it. From a basketbsall standpoint, it is basically a lateral move. It is surely a step up in the football category. No the ACC is not the SEC or BIG 10 in football, but it is better than the Big East. From Pitt's perspective, they will be now bringing in teams like Maryland and Florida State and Miami to Heinz Field instead of Temple and Rutgers every year. Sure, we will miss having WVU in the same conference, but from top to bottom, the ACC is the better football conferenced with name schools whose fans will travel to Pittsburgh for a road trip. The Big East is a great hoops conference, but so is the ACC with the likes of Duke, Carolina, etc. Also, the Pitt football program is more storied than almost every other ACC school, so it is now wonder why Pitt was invited. Syracuse is also moving to the ACC.

From what I've read I think it's a good move although it could take over 2 years. I'm glad Syracuse is moving with us and will greatly miss the rivalry with WVU. I also read that the Big East will fall apart and the move is motivated to gain more TV revenue.

Pitt in the ACC?!

Pittsburgh is in the Midwest! Some blowhards from New York and Philadelphia said so!
