This is nothing special -- just some photos I snapped today of West End Park, located in the Elliott/ West End neighborhood of the city of Pittsburgh. It's one of those little undiscovered gems in the city. It's one of my favorite places. It has a charm about it.

Please excuse the cheezy / free youtube music. The music I wanted to add was copyrighted.

Just FYI, many copyright holders don't mind having their music used in YouTube videos because they get a cut of the ad revenue. AFAIK the only companies that currently block unauthorized use are Waner and Viacom and certain fickle artists like Prince.

Well, Youtube blocks copyrighted music from being used in videos such as these. Not sure why, but they mute the music and make you choose something from their "free" library, unless it is particularly obscure (like the rare Tori Amos B-side I used for my Braddock video).

Nice video. What are the buildings at the end? Are the part of the park, or nearby neighborhood?

If you're looking for suggestions, I'd be curious to see the park that has some sort of ski lift and other fun activities, and may have had some conflict recently. I think it's called Boyce Park.

The houses at the end are a couple on the street near the park that I thought were cool.

I'll have to check out Boyce Park.

I love this park... so secluded and lush.

Classical pianos cheezy? No way that song was BOSS.

It was originally something else. I added the classical music later, and I agree!

What a timely bump of this thread. An elderly relative of mine just passed away yesterday. She lived very close to West End Park. I have very fond memories of taking walks with her and the rest of my family up to West End Park, and visiting the playgrounds there (not sure if the playgrounds are still there- didn't see any in the photos). It had probably been about 20 years since I was last in the park.

Thank you for the nostalgia.
