Depends on the street and the building.

The Pine Tree apartments, Greenlee Village or whatever its called now above the Arby's is pretty seedy.

Although I don't know how gang-infested it is.

In the rougher part of Brentwood there's a small group of teens who run the dope game/the crime scene (which isnt much even when compared to Carrick)... I think there called the "Southside Sky"./? They're not even close to being recognized as a gang but one could effectably call them d-boys, a click; and at the most a "hybrid-gang". I think most got kicked out of Brentwood HS, and are pretty much lower-level local dealers & party supplyers. I'd put the rough part of Brentwood in the same category as Spring Garden, Glassport, Sharpsburg & Verona

Took a house hunting trip last week and spent three days looking at houses and enjoyed our first steelers game at heinz field. We had an awesome time and are really excited about the move.

Our favorite house was on frich dr in baldwin about two blocks from the baldwin high school. It looked like a nice neighborhood and is close to work. Can anyone comment on the area? We are also shopping around for a lender for our mortgage. Recommendations are welcome.

I live in Brentwood, near Baldwin. I think the area near Baldwin High School is very nice and is perfect for your commute to work. My only note of caution is that the district ranks about the middle of the pack among districts in the region, according to the Pittsburgh Business Times 2011 school rankings (based on standardized test scores).
