Briefly exiting my cone of silence . . . they got picked up for a second season, after experiencing rapid ratings growth:

Unfortunately, I think they may have hit on a good formula--some idiots might like it straight up, and others will watch because they love to hate it.

But why would you have a problem with people supporting a show that callously exploits the abuse of little girls and deliberately portrays women in the worst possible light?

I think the appeal of a lot of these reality shows is exactly because they show other people in negative light. It gives everyday Joe and Jane purpose to say, "well, at least we're not as bad as those people..."

My girlfriend and I watch Hoarders and Bridezillas, but that's less because of the above and more because sometime it's human nature to want to watch a train wreck right before your very eyes.

There was talk awhile ago about Pittsburgh getting a Real World season, I wonder whatever happened to that.

Am I the only one getting sick and tired of both reality TV and these talent competition shows being rammed down our throats?

Let's see:

The Sing-Off
Dancing with the Stars
So You Think You Can Dance?
The X Factor
America's Got Talent
American Idol
^ Did I miss any there?

Jersey Shore
Jerseylicious
Real Housewives of New Jersey
Real Housewives of Atlanta
Real Housewives of DC/NoVA
Cake Boss
Wife Swap
Celebrity Wife Swap
The Glee Project
Project Runway
America's Next Top Model
Big Brother
The Biggest Loser
The Bachelor
The Bachelorette
Extreme Makeover
Secret Millionaire
Celebrity Apprentice
The Apprentice
Jon & Kate Plus 8

I just feel as if our nation is turning more and more idiotic on an annual basis. I come in from working my long days and can look forward to watching sports (blech) or watching some overpaid bimbos screeching "Like, oh my gawd!!!" on a reality TV series? Double blech! Whatever happened to the 1990s when we had Frasier, Will & Grace, Seinfeld, Friends, Mad About You, Caroline in the City, Spin City, Just Shoot Me, and numerous other classic sitcoms to enjoy? Now we get (mostly) lame attempts at sitcoms.

Is this what they're filming in Schenley Park right now? I saw a mother-load of trucks and equipment parked along Schenley Drive between CMU and the Panther Hollow Bridge this morning on my ride to campus.
