Yeah I think a Manchester stop would be useful, but I would also push for the Upper Northside neighborhoods.

Brighton Heights, Marshall-Shadeland, Perry North, and Perry South have a combined population of about 25,000, which is slightly higher than the residential populations of Oakland or Shadyside. Of course the Upper Northside isn't a major employment hub like Oakland, but I think one line to these neighborhoods would support a lot of people (many of whom depend on public transportation) commuting to other areas in the City. It could also potentially replace several bus routes.

I think most of those would be better covered by a commuter train that could link up with the subway....the fake subway is trying to stay as much as possible within a confine to downtown

All of those neighborhoods are much closer to downtown than Wilkinsburg is. By an eyeballing of your map, Perry North (the furthest) is about the same distance as Squirrel Hill from the city center.

Nonsense, looking at some comparably costing systems, this should only cost about $5 Billion to implement

Iraq and Afghanistan only cost the state $55 billion, so pocket change for a subway shouldn't be too hard to find in Harrisburg.

$5-6 billion was my estimate too.

Of course we could do it with aerial gondolas for a fraction of that cost--and I do NOT appreciate the cartoon!

It's a very old cartoon (I think from the early 20th century), and it seemed timely given the current discussion. Of course, I'm not actually that pessimistic.
