Does Pittsburgh get lots of geese at the time of year? Are there any places in particular that they hang out?

The radio was playing this song this morning and it put me in such a mood to drive up your way and check it out. They're just starting to arrive here so you guys must be seeing v-formation after v-formation.

Sorry the video is boring, but here's my song of the day.

No clue about geese this time of year, but I love the subtle Rush reference hidden in the lyrics of this song.

Up North, they used to pepper the soccer fields with grape Kool-Aid to keep the geese away.

Yep, we get lots of geese. Any large field will attract them--we always see a lot in the Pittsburgh Technology Center (along Second Avenue). They also hang out in the North Shore Riverfront Park, where we sometimes hand-feed them (watch your fingers!).

I'm interested in how this grape kool-aid works........boyfriend's family owns a golf course and we have major problems w/the Canadian Geese.

The geese don't migrate as much as they used to though--many decided that that was too much work and stay all year.

I don't know if it actually works; I was just a kid. If my memory serves, there was always tons and tons of geese and their byproducts on the ball fields.

I've also noticed in recent yerars (in the cold frigid weather) we get seagulls too. I've seen them at shopping centers for some strange reason (The Waterfront, N Versallies Walmart, Century 3)
