There are two in the Pleasant Hills area. The older Sheetz on Curry Hollow, then the newer one that was recently built off of Rt. 51, close to the new Damons restaurant. I'm kind of confused by the whole "coming closer to the city" thing. I've seen them all over, so a new one in Ross really isn't a huge deal. There is also one in Robinson and one in Moon on University. There's a fair amount of them around here, so they don't seem to be too scared of Allegheny County.

Correct, the other one is actually at the Jefferson Hills border. Being my home is in Pleasant Hills makes it REAL convenient to hit either one daily.
I was aiming my earlier comment at neither store being real close to C3 Mall.
You're right, they are not scared of Allegheny County, moreso just avoiding within actual city limits.

There's a new Damons?

I was confused about the closer to the city thing myself. I guess I don't pay attention to Sheetz. I don't drive and to me it's just another convenience store. ITA

Well, I don't know exactly how it went down, but Sheetz used to have stores inside the city. About 20 years ago, all of them either closed, or were converted to Crossroads. This is a fact. I would assume that they sold these stores to Guttman. Don't know if there was something in the agreement where Sheetz wouldn't open any local stores for a period of time or not, but I had a friend who worked at Sheetz back then, and he said this was so.

Damons took over the spot where Kings used to be. It isn't a new building, just totally revamped. This is off 51, close to the Advance Auto. Personally, I was more excited about Buffalo Wild Wings opening up at Century Square than Damons.

Hope that Damons is better run than the one that used to be in Waterworks. That place was about the dirtiest restaurant I have been in. Gross!

I do like Buffalo Wild Wings. They have good wings and they are very consistent. Not as good as Sidelines in Millvale, but good.

Sheetz is relatively local, seems to treat its employees well (as well as they can when it's a job at a gas station), has things I usually want/need, and doesn't charge me to use their money machines. If I'm on the highway somewhere and there's a choice between a Sheetz and somewhere else, I'll pick the Sheetz.

EDIT--oh, they also don't charge to use the machine to put air in your tires. It's a small thing, yeah, but it makes me feel like the company's trying to nickel-and-dime me every time I go in there.

My bad, I am sometimes guilty of calling the corridor along 51 from 43 to 88 Century III due to me not being as familiar with many names, and West Mifflin being so large that I give perspective of where it is. Anyways, it is a very nice Sheetz. One of the only ones that I have seen where you can actually eat inside of the store

Did you see that new Sheetz in Plum/Oakmont? It is stone and is pretty fancy for a Sheets. Still has that huge ugly red bright awning over everything and lit up so bright it is daylight for a square mile, but the building is kind of cool. I never go to these places. Have a BP credit card and get 5% off fuel. Hard to beat that. The Giant Eagle thing is such a scam, but it works for them due to people thinking they save something. What a laugh.
