The public transportation is at least somewhat decent in that area. The 61C runs every 15 minutes during rush hour and every 30 minutes off-peak: Port Authority of Allegheny County > Schedules & Maps > Trip Planner

The 56 also has service every 20-30 minutes during rush hour and 45 minutes off-peak: Port Authority of Allegheny County > Schedules & Maps > Trip Planner

There are also a few other routes in the area.

Thanks for the response. Glad to hear the city could move people around. I tell ya, I would really like to save that house before it slides down the hill. But it would be too big of a risk. If the economy was better and others were taking up similiar projects, sure. But I am not going in alone.

Well as of recent times the McKeesport community has been facing some violent set backs. Shooting after shooting, its getting crazy!!! Some of the violence is probably a part of an annual long played out rivalry between blood and crip sets in McKeesport, although recently a man from Braddock killed another man from Braddock outside a club in McKeesport, and that leads me to believe that Mckeesport is an underground hub for the rough crowd of the Mon Valley/easternside of Pittsburgh at night... Now weather this is a good or bad thing I don't know, but all the violence is pretty much contained to the gang affiliated areas that are commonly known sections to avoid (besides the shooting in Renzie Park)...

Here some some of the articles I found:

2 Injured In Separate McKeesport Shootings CBS Pittsburgh

3 in custody after Harrison Village shooting | TribLIVE
Police investigate shootings in McKeesport, Homewood - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Man shot dead in McKeesport's Renzie Park during family gathering - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Most of these shootings happen in the areas of this map:
