I dont know the exact streets your asking about..But i do know west mifflin quite well...I have some older relatives who live over there..
Blue collar town...alot of pick up trucks in the drive ways...so if your into construction workers your in... The crime is fairly low, but the schools are average at best...And might get worse due to the fact that Duquesne has closed it's high school and now all those students will be split between west mifflin and east allegheny... If I may suggest...Take a look into Baldwin-Whithall or Pleasnt hills...If you have children either of those school districts would be a better choice |

Sunset Dr. Would be the only one I would even consider. Iowa, and Texas are in a valley up against Duquesne. Twenty years ago that area wasn't too bad. My sister lived on Kahler street, which is around the corner from Iowa and Kennedy Blvd. She didn't even bother to sell her house. She picked up and moved. It was that bad. Outlook Drive is down by the railroad tracks, and Kennywood Blvd. Crap rolls down hill. That's as far down as you can get before it hits the river.
Sunset Dr. is in a quiet dead end area. I have relatives on the next street over (Glenny Lane Ext.), and a couple of streets above (Worton Blvd.) There seems to be a lot of red brick houses, with little yards in that area. West Mifflin is a big area with a big school. I heard that the Duquesne kids will be going there too. I have a cousin that is the school nurse there. I really don't know a whole lot about the school though. All in all, West Mifflin isn't a bad area, it just wasn't my cup of tea. |

Around 124 Duquesne kids will be attending West Mifflin schools... that's 10 per grade on average.
No need to panic over that! |

duchense mckeesport braddock all suck and if that's the area near where your looking... I'd go there and make sure your comfortable with the area. But like mentioned West mifflin is a big township(I didn't know it stretched all the way there)
http://www.chfcu.org/web/images/map.gif the west part where the century mall is pretty nice there isn't a ton of houses around there though and a country airport. |

Pittchick--
It's only 10th 11th and 12th grade....40 kids per class.. There's a long time rivalry between the schools for sports and probably just a plain dislike between the neighboring schools....West Mifflin tried to block that..Came up with alternate schooling...State is forcing WMSD to take them Those kids dont want to be there and west mifflin surely doesn't want them there..This could be trouble |

I guess it's more or less the same story everytime a school district has to expand its boundaries.... |

I stayed at the best western which is in green tree prior to moving here and found the area around that to be nice. I would compare it to collegeville/oaks/back part of king of prussia. Single unit ranchers or bi-level(the 1 1/2 or whatever they are called) the neighborhoods next to it are also better. The highway might be elevated over your house or next to it without the sound deadeners(big walls) but other than that should be a good place. it's easy to get downtown as it's super close but won't feel like it. traffic is a bit rough in the tunnel but nothing like conshocken curve like.
