Default Nice areas between Pittsburgh and Ellwood City?

Hi guys - I'm looking for a place to move north of Pittsburgh-temporarily and permanently. My fiance just got a job in Ellwood City & New Castle. I work @ Pitt (Oakland). Hopefully, we'll have a family soon, so we're trying to find an area to live in that is closer to HIS job, but less than a 80minute commute for me. We're young, we need an apt for now, but hopefully will buy a house soon - one with a yard and a little privacy in a school district where teachers' main job is teaching and NOT policing. Any suggestions?

The Cranberry/Mars area sounds good for your needs.

Chippewa in Beaver County has apartments, and you can take route 60 to New Castle or Oakland.

That's my old stompin' grounds (suburban Beaver Falls), but I don't remember this hamburger place. Sounds interesting, though.

Zelienople has alot of rentals, including apartments, and would be an easy commute for both of you. Same with Cranberry and Mars. Beaver maybe another option, with proximity to 60 to either Pittsburgh and New Castle, and a 1/2 hour drive to Ellwood City.

I've never heard of that hamburger place either, but my hubby was born and raised in Beaver Falls, and lived in Chippewa for 35 years. I'll ask him.

blessings, Shen

Ok, I asked my husband, and he said that they serve a Dorsey-burger at Jimmy's Drive In, in Bridgewater. Jimmy's Drive-In is an old-time car hop place, where it's cruise nite every nite.

blessings, Shen

Now Bridgewater can't be far from Chippewa, can it? Because we didn't drive far to get there.

No, it's not far - maybe a 15 minute drive down rte 51. Bridgewater is on the edge of Beaver sitting along the Beaver River.
My hubby took me to Jimmy's - sorry, wrong about that - it's Jerry's Drive-In in Bridgewater with the Dorsey-Burger - anyway, hubby took me there a couple of years ago when we were dating. I can't remember what I had, but it was good.

It'd be nice to go on a cruise nite. Another great place is the Back Door Tavern in Bridgewater, for their HUGE sandwiches.

blessings, Shen
