Thank you everyone for the responses, although it did seem like this thread started discussing more about cleveland than the original point of the post. Does anyone have any actual recent experience, either currently within the 22-26 age range or upper 20's that can really give opinions on what the single scene is for guys our age looking for girls? I realize every guy has different preferences and it's totally up to the person on how much they put themselves out there, but just not really ever spending anytime in Pittsburgh, I was hoping to get some honest answers from guy's (or girls) within that age range.

Hey,

Moved here a month and a half ago. Live right in Southside. 22 year old guy (23 next month). College grad - working full time professionally in Wilmerding. Single.

I dont know what you're looking for specifically...but from what I can tell you no matter what you're looking for there's nothing to worry about. I moved here by myself, not knowing anyone in the city. The only people I know, I've met through my new teammates (I play a mens semi-professional sport). Honestly, this place is just fine. I'm active. I'm out and about 4-5 nights a week to bars, restaurants, museums, parks, etc all around the city, more or less just trying to get a feel for the area.

What kind of "experience" are you looking for? Yeah, I've been out in Southside on a Saturday night and had the experience of the hammered crowd, i.e. "girl who has to use you as a handrail to steady herself and keeps asking where i parked my car."

I've also been out tossing a football around at Schenley park and met a few girls who were playing frisbee down the way, and met up with one of them a few nights later for happy hour after work.

Plenty of opportunity for anything, depending on what you're looking for. In my limited experience so far, however, I've noticed a tendency of women around here to gravitate towards the younger more established guys. I.e. being my age with a full time job/car/own apartment seems to be in high demand? (thats in no way meant to be a knock towards anyone or talking myself up). Coming from Detroit, I'm used to that though.

I guess private message me if you need anything else?

Great to hear someone in the age range that has no problem getting laid. Can we say that?

Just curious, what jobs are there in Wilmerding? You're definitely not working for Winkys.

Never said anything about "getting laid"! Just that I've had no problem meeting people.

And I know eh? I hear that from everyone. Its always..."Wilmerding? People still live there?"

Agree about the Southside... if you are under 25 you should have no problem meeting people there as long as you actually go outside and have semi-decent social skills.

Don't go to bars. Go somewhere that reflects your hobbies or interests. If you are into art, go to a gallery or museum. If you like literature, go to a libraary or B&N. If you like music, try a concert. Volunteering is a great idea too. If you go to a bar, you may end up with Snooki's yinzer cousin.
