I wonder if it might be haunted, being that it was a hospital at one time and then a psychiatric institution towards the end. It looks creepy enough outside especially at night, I couldn't even imagine being inside.

The creepiest thing for me was in the morgue. The room is pitch black and I used a flashlight to get a focal point for my camera and flash. I turned off the flashlight and immediately took a shot. I have a 5 second review time on my camera and as soon as the image turned off, while standing in the complete darkness, I felt something move away from right behind me, like something was looking over my shoulder at the image as I reviewed it.
Not saying it's ghosts, but there's definitely something....

Those photos are especially creepy because of all the things left behind. Nobody wanted the books in the library? Piece of medical equipment?

City Clerk Mike Minyon Jr. said people repeatedly tear down condemnation and no-trespassing signs posted at the site. City solicitor Scott Avolio said vagrants attempting to stay warm use the signs to start fires.

He said file cabinets still hold what appeared to be medical records of former patients.
The Pennsylvania Health Care Facilities Act requires hospitals to protect records from “loss, damage or unauthorized access.” The law requires public notice before destroying records.
State Health Department spokeswoman Holli Senior said it is a hospital’s responsibility to protect patients’ records.
“When a hospital closes, the hospital is responsible for ensuring that there is a place where medical records will be stored, and that information must be provided to the department via written confirmation,” Senior said.
I bet a file cabinet full of medical records would put out a lot more heat than one little sign...

It would also be a good way to destroy some confidential medical records from 10-20 years ago...

Looks like one of the founding doctors of the hospital is in hot water for the death of a Greensburg woman that happened at his house last weekend. It has been labeled suspicious.
