If you are going to take the T then your drive to it will be around 10 minutes if you go the back way from Jefferson to South Park and get on it at South Park. There is also a bus stop at your complex that goes into the city so that is another option as well.

Here is another place with townhouses right up the road from Lindenbrooke...we know people who have lived there and loved it. They are also right across the street from AL's cae which has the best food!! View Highfield Crossing Apartments For Rent in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania - ForRent.com

The maybe would be the area I work in, South Hills Village Mall/Upper ST Clair/Mt Lebo/Bethel area, or as I call it, Pittsburgh 90210

Default Look North or South

Hi Ken,

I'd avoid Monroeville if I were you. You can always go to a park and ride to catch a bus but just in general, taxes...

We moved here from Chicago and wanted to live in Pittsburgh but the taxes are sky high. Also we have children and the schools in Monroeville are terrible. Not ot mention the Squirrel Hill tunnel. We chose Cranberry Township b/c its the fastest growing area in the state plus its only 45 mins to the airport and 35 to downtown.
Its in Butler county apposed to Allegheny county so you get a major tax break. Also Westing House is in the process of moving there headquarters out this way to 16066. You have the Prime Outlets only 35 minutes north up 79 in Grove City. You can shop at Robinson which is 40 minutes or Ross Park which is also 35-40 minutes. Anyhow Check out on Rent.com Foxmoor Condo's. Its nestled away for privacy but minutes from the YMCA and only about 10 from Great restaurants and soon to be a new mall & Westing house. Anyhow as for shopping this is a great sight to giv eyou an idea of how quickly this plac eis growing:

Foxmoor is new and still being built. I know a younger more hip crowd is flocking towards Adam Township. Good Luck! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions. BTW if you are young and hip and not worried about taxes I'd look around Mt. Lebanon or Shady Side- is very artsy. There's also S. Side or Squirrel Hill if you want to be in the middle of it all. As for the South, I'd look near Peter's or Washington, PA.

thanks Lisa, yes, I have crossed off Monroeville. I want a rental for the first year to really get to know the area so within Allegheny county for the first year is fine. The house I want to either buy in Butler or Washington (I think) because of the taxes, probably Butler for the interstate and drive into the city. I really like the Robinson area shopping and restaraunt wise but to buy I believe that would still be Allegheny County and high taxes.

I would stay away from the 376. I've been on it a lot in the last six months and it is often (randomly) backed up along with the predictable rush hours. I've written it off completely and prefer to go around!

I'd consider Mt Washington if I were you. You don't need schools, right? It's very convenient to everything, has a pretty diverse population and good resale.

My sister lives in Butler, just off I79 near Moraine State Park. You'll love the area.

I favor the west suburbs of McKees Rocks, Kennedy, Robinson, Crafton, Thornburg, Carnegie. Great location to downtown, in all price ranges. Adequate schools, great churches, friendly people.
