Yes, wasn't that kind of our great leaders to send them out on the 19th of this month. Just in time for Christmas. How sweet! What a bunch of losers!

It was ordered by the judge to have the assessments in the mail before Christmas so the informal hearings could start ASAP. Had nothing to do with the holiday.

OK, please identify $50-60 million in "fat" in the County budget.

I think I am switching parties to the big R next time around. Even though I can't stand the GOP.
Republicans in the state government cut funding for localities, forcing localities to increase revenues and/or cut services, hoping that would be just complicated enough to fool people into blaming local officials. And apparently it worked.

The anti-windfall law will keep revenues the same on a net basis as a result of the assessment. If one property owner's taxes are going up, some other property owner's taxes must be going down.

The waste in government is a joke. It is almost all FAT! Totally inefficient and wasteful. The pay is always over the mark for employees. PennDot comes to mind. Just ask anyone in a government job. Always overpaid because they can get away with it. Seems we are paying for this style dearly until people say no to all this waste. Look at what PAT bus drivers make and that pension mess. Toast. Drink tax? Never ending new taxes raising taxes and more taxes with less to show for it. What do you propose? Just take 50% of what we earn and hope for the best? Less money in our pocket is also bad for the economy. No way can anyone retire here. Real estate values just are alway going to be stagnate. This system is broken. You keep raising everyone's taxes Brian. Keep going and going and we will have our Socialist Society. That seems to be your agenda.

Some will see an increase in their taxes, some not so much. Overall, I'm willing to bet that most of the homeowners on this forum would admit their home is under assessed.
