By the way, watch the net migration rate become much more positive between 2010 and 2011, because 2009 was a rough year everywhere.

No. Net migration, by definition, excludes births and deaths.

Where is data for 2010-2011? Unless I'm not seeing it, the amount of net migration for 2009-2010 doesn't look any different than it was in 2008-09.

The data for 2010-2011 will be available next year. The rate didn't change much in 2009-2010 because migration rates were down everywhere in 2009. I expect greater divergence in 2010-2011 because more people began to move, and the economy remained relatively healthy in Pittsburgh.

Sounds good. I think the data on the size of the labor force does show the population increases have likely gone up.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see what happens as more people get out of their underwater mortgages, build up some savings, and so on.

There will be no savings build up in our region. That just will go to all the new taxes. You know the reassessments, millage increase and new drink tax. This place is as out of control as it can get!
