That's true.

I've been to them when visiting family in MD and would love to have one in Pittsburgh.

All of this is fascinating but the DC part is not. DC has been one of the top regions to attract Pittsburghers probably since the post war years.

There are probably more ex-Pittsburghers in the Washington DC area than anywhere else, due to both the presence of the recession-resistant federal government and the fact that it's the closest extra-large MSA to Pittsburgh.

Indeed--people here are at least as parochial as anywhere else I have lived.

Hell NO! I like most Pittsburghers did not and still do not go to OH....I would rather go 5-6-7 hrs East than go 30 mins West. I have always said to Pittsburghers the PA/OH border might have well been the Berlin Wall they simply will not go to OH.

Which is why I continue to beat the drum that Pittsburgh is an East focused city, when we have those "is it Northeast or Mid-West" battles.

That's how it is for myself too. Ohio just seems so different from Pittsburgh even though it is so close.

I agree. Everything from the way they talk to their fashion. I remember being around Cleveland a few years back and everyone had an odd obsession with Plaid

Although no one would expect it, Cleveland does have a notable fashion presence. This is largely because of the city's local art and music scenes that help serve as a natural and ready collaboration for the design industry.

Cleveland Fashion Week is one of the largest events in the country, following right behind the long established but predictable East/West coastal fashion influences.

I remember working with many students from the Cleveland area and impressed with how well they dressed. They were many times more cutting edge than the students who there from the East Coast and had the ability to make even a New Yorker look outdated.
