I know it's early, but does anyone have any predictions about how our spring will be? I haven't been following the weather much since I'm in Cali right now, but I'll be returning in a few months after winter.

I think after "Springter 2011" we're due for a real spring. Last March/April/May really sucked with all that rain.

I think personally that if it doesnt start to snow the way it usually snows in the past few years, we will have a very wet spring..but what do I know? LOl!

My prediction is that it will be warmer and drier than normal.

After December 21st, the days will get longer and longer, up until June 20th...

I'm going with this too. A cold and wet spring. This fall reminds me of the the fall I moved up here in 2006. An early snow in October, followed by a mild Nov and Dec with no measurable snow. If I recall correctly, the following spring was pretty ugly.

HAHAHAH. I never would have guessed.

Actually, what I am noticing right now, is that this December could be unusually sunny. I don't know, maybe because we haven't had a cloudy day since last Wednesday and tomorrow is suppose to be sunny again. I hope spring 2012 is like spring 2010 -- warm, dry, and sunny. After Snowmaggedon, March was unusually warm, dry, and sunny. April was similar as well.

you guys have had a pretty mild november/december so far (Chicago has too). I'm guessing a long, cool wet spring for both

That doesn't necessarily denote a lousy spring. Last year in particular, we were in a strong La Nina pattern through spring, which contributed greatly to the wetness. It's a crap shoot this year I think, as the La Nina seems to have died down quite a bit (Accuweather even altered it's winter forecast).

A lot of it also has to do with the prevailing weather patterns in the northern Atlantic Ocean. Truthfully, the Northeast tends to be more affected by those weather patterns than they do by whatever's happening in the Equatorial Pacific Ocean.
