Default Help: Bryn Mawr Apartments

I'm moving to Pittsburgh in two weeks from Alabama. I've only been there once for an interview and was only there a day. Does anyone know anything about Bryn Mawr Apartments or the area around there? Its on Ardmore Blvd. just south of Interstate 376. I got a 920 SF one bedroom apartment there for $720 per month but know nothing of the area.

That's a fine area -- it's called Forest Hills. It's suburban -- probably not too much excitement around there, but well-kept and safe. The biggest drawback is that it is on the east side of the Squirrel Hill tunnels, which means a big wait in traffic if you need to drive anywhere around rush hour. Right now there's construction on that section of 376, so on weekends the tunnel is closed and you have to go on a really long detour. Take a short lease if you can because for that price, you can probably find something in a more interesting, more convenient neighborhood. Heck -- for that money, you can buy in many parts of Pittsburgh.

Too true! I found a very nice 3 Bedroom house with a garage and full basement on 16k square feet of land in the North Hills for $750 a month!
