I don't know, my family's national and international travels to historic landmarks and emphasis on learning about the history of just about anywhere we went sure helped a lot in certain parts of my academic pursuits.

I didn't go anywhere with it major-wise (As majoring in history won't really get you anywhere in what I want to do in life) but it gave me a pretty deep and wide knowledge base in history classes, a good boost in economics classes, and it certainly helped me to be more open to other cultures and ideas. (Even if it doesn't come across to you guys that I give a damn what you have to say )
