But you do live in a historic home. Wasn't it built in the 1920s or 1930s?

Sure, but I'm assuming "historic home" here means more than just its build date, no?

Oh, I personally refer to anything pre-war as historic, even an outhouse. Have you seen what they consider historic in Las Vegas?

I can't even imagine how much it would cost to paint it.

That's why you do it yourself.

Paint is still expensive.

You'd need to be on top of a 40' ladder to paint that, not really a height where most homeowners are willing to climb. I did it for years as a professional painter and won't ever go up that high again.

The reduction in price seems too extreme--if it was $150K last year, and is now on sale for $99K, something is wrong with the house.

It's such a beautiful house. It must be the neighborhood that's the problem (and maybe the house is a complete POS inside). I've never been to Carrick, and from everything I've heard, I don't want to go to Carrick, either.

From the pictures it looks like it needs some work in the interior to do it justice (lots of carpets, and an outdated kitchen). That, the general uniqueness of the property, and the neighborhood issues may make it hard to determine an appropriate market price.
