Crime in Pittsburgh has been on a bit of a rice recently, don't know what the heck is going on there. lol.

heat is a problem...bigger city, more racially mixed too...would gather more illegal immigrants lead to more crime as well.

That is mostly true. Although, to be honest, the illegals really aren't that much of a "crime" problem as people think. They are a HUGE drain on our economy because they tend to take advantage of the public services here and send most of their money back home to Mexico.

Typically, they are mostly respectful and "law abiding". There are of course "barrios" where there is a lot of drug activity and so forth. Aside from the fact they are here illegally, they really are very hard workers and typically respectful.

Lately though, there is definately some noticeable "tension" between the races here.

for the most part I would agree about the law abiding in so far as they aren't openly looting...but when your illegally here and you have a fake social security card etc etc...how law abiding can you be?

LOL, there is THAT! I just meant that they typically do not pose an "immediate" safety threat to people. I can't help but remember the old Ross Perot analagy about that huge "sucking noise" that NAFTA would create. Virtiually every dime they make goes back to mexico.

The thing you have to understand is that a lot of immigrants -- legal or illegal or naturalized -- from all over the world send lots of our money back home. Almost every Filipino I know sends stipends back home... to the point where the people back home are living high on the hog and don't even try to find jobs.
