I'm looking for a at least a 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath either close to the city or the t. I'm looking to spend no more than $1500 a month plus utilities and small dog friendly. I want to be in a decent neighborhood as well. Any suggestions?

You've got a lot of possibilities with that budget. Can you describe your ideal neighborhood?

Without knowing more, it sounds like Mt. Lebanon is the option.

Castle Shannon has a lot of apartments at reasonable rents, it might be a good place to start.

Aspinwall, Shadyside, Point Breeze, Friendship and a host of other places. Depends where you are commuting and what kind of neighborhood you want. Good budget. The 2 1/2 baths will be a little challenging.
