Visiting the YWCA Homewood-Brushton?
Hi - I have never been to Homewood, and have not yet checked out public transportation to that area or where the YWCA is. I'm wondering about the safety of taking a bus to the Homewood-Brushton branch of the YWCA at 4pm and then leaving by bus around 6pm, and then traveling by bus to/from there Saturday afternoon. Is there a bus stop near the YWCA?
Thanks.

I was going to join the YMCA there myself but now I have Frick Park in my back yard so that's all the excercise I'll ever need. I'm not sure about busing around there, but I'll leave it for someone else to attend there.

Can someone please clarify exactly where the "Hilltop" area of Homewood is? As in what streets run thru it. I know where Homewood is and everything but never to the point where I was aware of the different areas.

Homewood
I wouldn't say that I would buy a home in Homewood but I'm very familar with the area I'm from the East side. It depends on what part of Monticello you are considering moving to but it is correct no one really delivers fast food to Homewood only 2 places Domino's Pizza in East Liberty and Capri's pizza which takes literally forever! As far as crime yes it does happen gun shots, I've had my car broken into, etc. If you have children then that would be a huge factor in determing what location to buy a home and the school district, etc. There are other areas that are very nice as well as affordable but you run into other problems as well maybe not crime such as gun violence, drugs, prostitution but they all have ups and downs just depends on what you are looking for. I don't think that Homewood is something that you are looking for.

The bus stop is right across the street depending on if you are going towards town you have the 77A or 77B as your option.

That's not much better than Homewood in my opinion.
