My favorite pizza place in Pittsburgh was always Pino's. I think the one in Squirrel Hill was closed last time I was there, but there's another one in the tiny little Point Breeze business district on Reynolds Avenue between Gettysburg and Hastings. That 1/2-block business district is one of the best little hidden spots in the city.

Pino's Mercato

I like the little pizza shop called Pizza Parma on the corner of 9th and Penn downtown... ( I think that's the intersection) My grandma and I always eat there on our yearly trek down to the Violin shop on Penn Ave. I'm no expert on pizza, but their's usually hits the spot!

Default Primanti Bros.?

Does Primanti Bros. have fish or grilled vegetable sandwiches or is the selection only various types of beef?

I guess you could ask them to just put the coleslaw and fries in the burger, no beef! That's probably as close to a vegetable sandwich as you'll get.

However I kinda remember that they had a fish sandwich (like most other joints in Pittsburgh).

La Fiesta in Oakland and Taco Loco on the South Side are good independent Mexican restaurants here. I don't know for sure how authentic they are, but in both places the staff are all Mexican.

While I'm at it let me recommend some other restaurants I like.

Indian:

India Garden (Oakland, Attwood St)
People's Restaurant (Garfield, Penn Ave)

Middle Eastern:

Ali Baba (Oakland, Craig St)
Baba D's (Oakland, Forbes Ave)

Asian/Pacific:

Spice Island Tea House (Oakland, Attwood St)
La Filipiniana (Lawrenceville, Butler St)

Italian:

Del's (Bloomfield, Liberty Ave)

Yep, Del's was my favorite mom & pop red-sauce Italian joint. Nice little place.

The best pizza I've ever had was a little place called P&M in New Kensington. It was thin crust and crispy with yellow cheeses that stuck to the roof of your mouth. It was sooo good. If anyone at all by chance remembers that place or has ever been, let me know, I know where you can still get it :P Another place bought the recipe when P&M closed.

No we don;t have mexican food like you have in Denver, maybe that is because Pittsburgh isn't near the South West....................

I had great Mexican food in Denver. I wish we had a WaHos fish tacos out here. Oh well, we got better food though. Try getting a good sandwich, pizza, or authentic European food in Denver.

Then again, why is denver in another Pittsburgh thread.........again.........
