Well, he must be doing something right and it is good to see that so many read his thoughtful and descriptive posts. I am sure Brian is very pleased and wants to congratulated him, since I am sure Brian has learned a lot from Steel as we all have.

Congratulations!

Congrats, and well-deserved!

And thanks for all those who also noted my contributions above--I'll take that as my own honorable mention.

Whoa! Simmer down, everyone!

I appreciate those who pre-emptively came to my defense, but I took no offense to Love2Golf09's "pride parade" comment. She's made it clear numerous times that her political beliefs are divergent than the majority of posters on this sub-forum, and I don't believe we should condemn her for that. She sent me a congratulatory rep comment as a gesture of goodwill. The only post in this entire thread I personally took offense to was from h_curtis, and even then I think it was just sour grapes. I harbor no long-term ill-will towards him, and hopefully he'll retire his grudge against me as the weeks progress.

I had a strong feeling that someone from our sub-forum was going to be amongst the winners. I "lurk" in quite a few state forums, city sub-forums, and other "general" forums, and I find the Pittsburgh sub-forum to be quite the intellectual nexus. For as much as some of us fly off the handle on one another in the heat of the moment we're still rather calm and collected, overall, compared to many other forums on here. If I didn't legitimately and honestly need the money I'd probably look to give my prize to either BrianTH or AlleghenyAngel, both of whom I feel have been more helpful (and prolific) recently than I've been.

I definitely think you or BrianTH deserved the prize. My posts are mainly my photo tours or preservation-related threads, which are basically me promoting my blog rather than contributing exclusively to the forum.

Congrats SCR! I think you deserve the award because not only are your posts informative, but you're also a genuinely nice person with a good sense of humor!

I appreciate you thinking of me, but you really do deserve the recognition yourself. So enjoy the financial benefits with a clear conscience!

Now that the contest is over I have to say there were quite a few Pittsburgh forum regulars among the best posters. Unfortunately we only had so many prizes ...
Anyway, congrats Paul!
Yac.

Congrats!

What were the contest rules for that one? I wasn't following there even was a contest.

Just curious....
