Check out the "Announcements" section to see the results of the most informative poster contest.

Personally, my vote would have gone to BrianTH for most informative poster; however, I might have voted for SCR in some other categories, if they were offered.

Edit to add: Congrats, SCR. Put that cash prize to good use!

How did you win, SCR? Was it an essay contest?

Thanks, Kippy! I was beyond shocked and floored to see that I had received the runner-up cash prize, and considering I'm saving for a down payment on my first home for my partner and I (and his weiner dog) this money will most definitely be put to good use!

I also agree that BrianTH (along with a few others) don't get the recognition they truly deserve. BrianTH's informative posts about the city's economic progress, development news, demographics trend analysis (which Gnutella also does a great job with), etc. really helped to sway me towards Pittsburgh over Minneapolis, which was my own runner-up city once NoVA burned me out. I can't believe BrianTH still doesn't even have a single rep badge yet.

AlleghenyAngel's photo tours are also something I look forward to very much. I know some will disagree with me winning one of the prizes due to their personal disdain towards me, but bear in mind that everyone is eligible to win future contests so keep on "informing!"

A panel of judges reviewed entrants' contributions to the forums over the years and selected winners based upon their overall level of informativeness (is that even a word?) to others. While some may dislike me on here be advised in 2006-2008 I contributed thousands of photos via my numerous photo tours of parts of Upstate NY, NW NJ, NEPA, and North Central PA, along with the Lehigh Valley. I have a feeling that those posts may have worked in my favor to help counterbalance what little good, if any, I contribute to the Pittsburgh forum.

OK, first congrats. But your partner has a weiner dog? Sorry, can't help myself.

Congratulations, SCR, and don't spend it all at Chick Fil-A. I admit I'm surprised--guess I just know you through a few forums, and never realized you were into posting data. Anyway, it's always great to learn a new side of someone. Don't be modest, the rules said greater weight would be given to posts made in the last 8 weeks. So share! I have to admit I'm curious what other forums you're on and what information you're posting. Do you do one of those daily Tip Of The Day type posts? Could you give us a few links so we can catch up on this side of you?
