At certain times like around evening rush Paulowna is going to have you waiting perhaps two very long traffic light cycles. This is why I start to wonder if that's worth it. I think that makes sense in the North Side case, but I'm not sure it makes sense in the starting from Stanwix and Blvd of the Allies downtown case.

If you're game for Melwood, though, that really cuts out the wait. I just couldn't make myself take Melwood most days. I had enough time, so I just waited for the light on Paulowna. Not too bad with iPhone in hand.

I'm just having trouble reconciling a 4 mile drive with a half hour, no matter how I slice it. I feel like 20 minutes should be possible, and hopefully without waiting multiple cycles at multiple lights...so frustrating when driving a stick...the turn onto Bigelow was mighty fun from Polish Hill.
LOL I drive a stick too! Paulowna is a killer. Usually someone's right up on your ass there, so I generally used the handbrake trick to avoid any rolling.

I know what you mean about the time. Now I have to say, my experiences were generally closer to 5pm than 6pm, so some points may have been better than at 6, and a few were probably worse at 5 than at 6.

If you really want to cut your drive time, you should be a workaholic and stay until 6:30. That should fix it.

Most days you'll find me at Gold's from 5:30 til 6:30, which really does fix everything

When I'm leaving early/not going to the gym, it's unequivocally because I have to be somewhere, hence me trying to find the best drive. Plus, I think this is actually good info to have out in the public space. I'm sure I can't be the only one in search of good routes home from work.

You live in Shadyside, you work out at Gold's, AND you're straight?
