With an such an upstanding citizen like Rupert Murdoch in charge, I would hesitate before calling anything that they report actual "news". Propaganda would be a more accurate term.

Ok, besides social issues as gay marriage & abortion, what other negatives are there about him as I don't think those 2 issues matter all that much to many people (yes I realize they matter a lot to some on both sides of those issues). I'm genuinely curious as I wasnt around here during the majority of his tenure in office.
Either way I don't think he has much of a chance mainly because of his lack of charisma rather then any issue stance that he holds though.

He defeated Doug Walgren with his mantra, Doug does not live in Western PA; Shortly after he defeated Mr. W, he picked up stakes and moved to DC; His wife claimed she was hurt during a USAir flight, won about 400K, it was bogus, shortly after that, he fought to have insurance awards reduced, when asked about his wife's case, It's none of your business; When the people of Millvale needed govt aid after the flood, his response, Sometimes it's good to suffer! and voted against any financial aid; He tried to scam Penn Hills out of 100K through a cyber school when he never lived in PH, bought a cheap Cape Cod to make it look good.

The guy is a snot nosed jerk, and I'm a conservative.

It seems while he is most definitely right leaning on positions, unless I'm missing something nothing I saw comes across as being the devil incarnate that alot of people on here are implying unless I'm missing something.

Again I think he has 0 chance of being nominated either way. & for the record I wouldnt vote for him.

It is true Santorum in many ways was just a typical Tom DeLay Republican, although that has proven problematic for him in the 2012 Republican primaries.

My point, however, is there is nothing particularly "Pittsburgh" about someone like that.

The author of that article, Howard Fineman, is a proud Pittsburgh native.

How do I know this? He appears regularly on the talking head shows, Chris Matthews show is one, and they kid him about it all the time.

This one in particular. I don't even live in Pittsburgh, and I heard about it. That struck me as a sleazy thing to do. FWIW, I live somewhat near him (he lives in Leesburg VA, maybe 15 miles from me) and from what I read in the newspapers his neighbors here in Loudoun County don't think much of him either. The people who seem to like him are the people who don't live near him.

About being from Pittsburgh. Example:
"That wouldn't go over well in Pittsburgh, would it Howard?"
Howard: "No, no it wouldn't."
