Does she work in the assessment office or did she hear it from someone? The people I know that handle the emails are busting their asses.

Back when they first announced the newly assessed properties, they were getting a ridiculous amount of phone calls and emails. I signed up via email and didn't get any reply, so I called in. The woman I spoke with told me that they weren't answering emails due to the volume they were receiving.

It seems this is no longer the case, though, so forgive the misinformation. That said, since it happened before, it is possible that it could happen again, though unlikely.

I just wanted to let anyone know, in case you are thinking about filing an appeal. They changed the deadline from march 31st to March 7th. Silently.
I mean I appealed my house the first thing in january then I got an email saying it's bolocks, then I got another bunch of emails saying that I can now file another apeal and the deadline in March 31st only to decide now to file and to my utter surprise I see that the deadline is March 7th.
Thank God I did not postpone it any longer.
I filed on line. hopefully someone will reply to me in the next 2 business days or I'll be calling them non-stop. It seems to me there's a total lack of organization in that department. Thank s so much for posting useful info here.

Be advised that if you hire an appraiser, make sure he uses the correct form. Any appraisal used for mortgage lending purposes will not be considered.

Seriously? My boss is gonna be pissed! I think he was hoping to get double duty out of some recent appraisals (which were arranged through the bank).

Why the hell should that be the case? The crap you have to deal with now to get an appraisal for mortgage purposes is painful.

A lot of questions. My one property went up 800%.

Does everybody realize the millage rate is now, for 2011 up 20% . You will need to pay more to the county THIS YEAR.

Will the millage rate go back down once the new assessments take effect ?????

This year, I meant 2012 . The real big issue is how my borough will handle school tax. Is their milage going to change this year or next.
