I already provided the zip code for Allison Park (15101) and Glenshaw (15116).
The school districts for those zip codes are all good.
15101 could be Hampton or Shaler or North Allegheny.
15116 could be Shaler or Fox Chapel or Hampton.

again no-one gives the south hills a nod???
Try Bethel Park and south park. South stabane township as well. Parts of cannonsburg.
If you really look hard you can find an older fixer upper in Peter's and Parts of Upper St Clair for around $175.

i was going to mention that south hills - which i prefer to north hills by a landslide - was not yet mentioned.
i agree with the bethel and south park suggestions as well - peters for a 3rd option. i've been in a huge anti-upper st. clair mode lately - long story - so i must say i do not recommend it if you have kids.
try 15236 - lots of great homes in family-friendly neighborhoods with lots to do and close to downtown

You all know how I feel about Shaler from previous posts but as to throwing out a South Hills location, has anyone mentioned: Mt. Lebanon, PA 15228 ?
You didn't say how many bedrooms, etc. or other preferences you have but I was surprised by the prices there after hearing how desirable the area is.
But I could be way off as I really know nothing about the place.
Just what I've heard: great schools, older homes, established 'nabes, etc.
Anyone care to chime in?

Lots of overlapping...

I think the zip codes will be useful though. By the way, West View is not part of the city. It's its own borough. Try also Allison Park and Bradford Woods. I'm not familiar with any of the schools though.

Yes, it is hard to search for homes here by municipality name and/or ZIP code, there is a lot of cross referencing involved. The Howard Hanna site offers more selection of actual place names than Realtor.com. I sometimes narrow it down by a specific school district too - yet another way to get even more confused.

I didn't say I was looking to spend $175,000, I said UNDER $175,000.
Could I spend that? Yeah. I could spend $200,000 but I don't see any point in that as it looks like I can probably get a nice fixer upper for quite a bit less than that.
Everyone who has posted zip codes and neighborhoods, thank you very much.

If you like old houses - stone, tudor, four square. You can find that in Mt. Lebanon for under 175k. It won't be a huge house. But worth a look, especially if you want to be closer to downtown.

I think you might be confusing West View with West End? West View is part of the North Hills school district.
