Well this is really disappointing. I just found out about the Megabus to Toronto and was planning to regularly use it to go to Toronto, and then use VIA Rail to get to Ottawa to visit my family. Total would always be 10% of the cost and 1% of the hassle of flying... so much for that.

MegaBus driver arrested on DUI charges in Southwest Mich. - The Michigan Daily

I was on this bus and will never again use Megabus.

The only city west of Columbus that Pittsburgh has a notable connection with is Chicago, and it, too, is relatively weak given Chicago's size, and compared to any other major city between Ohio and Missouri.

Like I've said elsewhere, having a strong connection with certain cities in Ohio doesn't mean that Pittsburgh has a strong connection with the rest of the Midwest by extension.
Which is why that so-called CHI-PITTS mega-region map is questionable....Pittsburgh is more of a left arm to the BOS-WASH Megaoplis before any CHI-PITTS develops with Pittsburgh included.

So just based on one bad experience, you're never taking Megabus again?

I've taken over 10 trips to various cities using Megabus and haven't had a problem yet.

I'd take Amtrak over Megabus anyday.

The difference between Cleveland and Pittsburgh seems like night and day to me.

I think there are many similarities between the two cities, but too many people around here tend to overstate this. The cities are not twins by any means.

For now I'm sticking with my assessment that Pittsburgh has many cousins but no siblings.

That said, I think it may be slowly but surely shifting eastward.

I hear you - I intended to make a trip up to TO over Easter and was planning to leave the car at home.

Oh well, guess I can add Niagara-sur-Lac to the itinerary now. Running low on Greaves' jam anyway.
