Some of the smartest, most well informed residents of the area post on this forum, and then there's the rest of us. This thread is meant to see how good we are at predicting, providing a reference guide to point to later. The idea is to pick one, a few, or all of the Allegheny County millage areas and guess what's going to happen in 2013 after the reassessments kick in. Then point back later and brag.

2011 Rates:
Municipality: Allegheny County Treasurer
School: Allegheny County Treasurer

Feel free to just guess at a few specific areas. When you guess, state clearly which municipality / school you're referring to. Feel free to be specific (ie municipality X will increase by 1.1 to 3.4) or general (ie municipality X will increase, municipality Y will decrease.)

I think it could be fun to look back in a year and see just how accurate some of us were.

I've got a prediction: The 2012 base year reassessment will get challenged in court on the same basis as the previous reassessment. Instead of ordering yet another reassessment, the court will order values of all properties in specific census tracts where over assessment is obvious reduced by 33-66%, and the values of all properties in specific census tracts where under assessment is obvious increased by 25-30%. Just a prediction.
