Default Cheapest place to get new propane tank

Anyone know where the best/cheapest place to get a new propane tank for a gas grill is? Prefer a real store, not craigslist please. Thanks.

Dunno about cheapest, doubt there's a lot of variation really. Any Home Despot or Lowe's can sell you one out of the rack out front for I think 40-odd bucks. If you have an empty and don't need a second one then you just exchange for about $20? I don't know the price anymore, used to be around $20. If you find an old-time shop out in the sticks somewhere you might get an actual refill for a little less but nothing worth driving around for.

There are a few variations in the tanks I think so you might bring your existing tank with you even if you're just getting an extra. If you have a grill but no tank you might need to do a little figuring out of variation, or not. I may be remembering that incorrectly.

Need a new tank for a new grill, not a refill. Gave away the old one when we moved. I know you can get it at home depot, lowes, hardware stores, gas stations, walmart, and about a billion other places... the prices vary a suprising amount, but not enough that's its worth driving all over town to comparison shop, which is why I was wondering if anyone knew the best price.

Bong - Give a call to West Penn Laco in Millvale - 412.821.3608 - to see if they have what you're looking for. They're located just off the Rt 28 intersection. Best prices around for propane tank refills. I'd imagine they've got good prices on tanks, too.
