If your lucky, once you take of the aluminum brake metal/siding you'll find the original external wood trim is largely intact. However, it does look like your dormer roof was trimmed (historical ones had more overhanging eaves) which won't be easy to fix.

You probably already knew everything I mentioned, but I can't help myself. I get pretty excited about a place like that and my mind immediately starts fixing it up to make it more gentle to the eye and let such a great building speak for itself. The green on the door could work or some green shade, but it is too much green. The entire entrance is green, not just the doors. It takes away from the doors. Ah, it is fun to think about doing another home. I just can't do it now.

Of course your first thing to do is make it livable and fix the inside as you stated. Hope all goes well with the home inspection. I have a feeling it will be fine other than the usual electric/plumbing and whatever other homeowner fixes where done that were done wrong. I have a feeling the bones of that place are great. One strong building that will be there for another 100++.

Can't wait to hear more about this. Let us know.

I lived just a few doors down from your house!

I'm going to have a big housewarming party when everything is settled. If any of you would like to come, let me know.

You gotta be kidding?!?!?

Do you really want Steel City and Scott wrecking their cars in front of your house?

h_curtis, have you ever posted pictures of places that you've restored? It sounds like you've done some pretty interesting work.
