Thumbs up Congratulations, AlleghenyAngel!

I just wanted to be the first on this sub-forum to congratulate our very own AlleghenyAngel on the purchase of his dream home in Spring Hill! I will defer to permit him to elaborate more, but as someone who has admired his love of historic architecture for a few years now I'm beyond thrilled for him!

Thank you! The house still needs to be inspected before it becomes a done deal, but I am crossing my fingers (I'm also nervous to death about paying the future gas bills). It's a Victorian brownstone (or almost-brownstone, lol) overlooking downtown Pittsburgh, in Spring Hill (one of my favorite neighborhoods). It has all of the original woodwork and even a marble mantle. The formal dining room has real wood paneling (original to the house) and even a built-in china cabinet. There is also a vestibule at the entry, double Victorian entry doors, all of the original transoms, and a grand staircase. It needs tons of TLC, but I fell in love. I'll keep you all updated and post some pictures.

Congratulations and looking forward to seeing the photos, especially as it progresses. How long did it take to sell your old house?

I thought this was going to be about the P-G mention--this is much more important!

Congrats to both you and the house: it couldn't be in better hands.

Congratulations, and welcome to the north side! I can't wait to see pictures...I've loved Spring Hill since a kid, when we had the Friday night ritual of driving there to go to Spring Hill Bank. I was always sure that we'd never make it up that crazy, winding hill.
