I remember Brewer's..my impression a more rough crowd...people you would never think
would be gay...there is also an element of guys who like guys who don't identify as gay in Pittsburgh and 2 gay bars in Homewood that are off the standard gay radar...This not straight but not gay-identified element is interesting...just my 2 cents..(don't mine me) |

Who knows, attractive male in a VW, possibly shopping at IKEA and strolling through Shadyside - maybe the nasty looks stem from an attitude of "why is that nice gay boy with that woman!"Just kidding! ![]() |

Well here's another one. I swear to god, what is WRONG with the GOP party? Are they all repressed homosexuals who secretly hate themselves and THAT'S why the anti-gay platform is so prominent for them? You know, that IS real psychology. A great many homophobics actually have strong homosexual desires.
Legislator resigns amid sex scandal - U.S. Life - MSNBC.com I am so tired of this. |

Guylocke,
Perhaps it's time to step off the soap box? |

There is nothing wrong with the GOP - they are just master marketers. They have figured out a ploy that works and they are sticking with it.
The anti-gay platform is so prominent because it gets you to do exactly what you are doing. It puts people on one side or the other, no gray area. So, they get their supporters and they can try to make their detractors look like really bad guys. But they don't address any real issues. I kind of look at it like a red herring. Abortion is another red herring. It would be wonderful, but you don't see anyone getting nearly as riled up about the things that face all folks every day - say, tort reform or infrastructure safety. |

I hope that didn't come across as harsh - I just feel like it is just a ploy. I truly believe that so many of them have no beliefs in what they say, just that it helps create the divide, brings in voters, alienates other parties, etc.

guylocke, I didn't think you were on a soapbox at all!
I think it is really strange that someone who chooses to have sex with the same sex would spew out hateful homophobic party-line garbage! I guess they have to spew that much louder to divert attention. It's sad to think that they are the exact people in power that could actually make life easier for gay/bisexual people. |
