Rumor has it that they are going to use the Andora menu. Bad news for the cheap skates in Fox Chapel since the prices will be higher.

Andora is far from a chain.

Um, I think you have that in reverse. The people who eat VERY well live in the Borough, the people who cheaper out are in O'Hara. Kind of obvious.

Shame it will lose its charm going to some mega restaurant place. They are always like an Atria's. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I am sure the owners did well considering the FC folks enjoying it so often.

"Mega restaurant place"?

That is incredibly laughable. You've already stated you've not only never been, you never heard of it.

Go eat at Andora up on Mt. Nebo. Then posit an opinion. Until then you're simply unfairly labeling a pretty competent and good small restaurant group as an industrial food conglomerate.

Wow! Fox Chapel is at war with O'Hara.

Not a mega restaurant to be sure, nice place on Nebo with good food.

Is Cross Keys in Indiana Twp.? Or is it just past the invisible divide into O'Hara? That north west section of FC (the borough and then O'Hara and Indiana wrapping around Beechwood Farms) is odd for sure.

Sort of random place to hide a good restaurant. Might have done better in a more accessible location.

Cross Keys is right on the boarder of Indiana Twp and FC. It is in Indiana Twp, but barely. If you walk across the street you are in FC. If you walk 100 yards to the left out the front door you are in FC. It feels more like FC than Indiana Twp, because most of that area is FC.

Not comparing it to O'Hara but to Sewickley.

Cross Keys was worth driving to back when there were so few good restaurants in Pittsburgh. In fact, that is where I proposed to my wife (sort of--it was the last of three proposals, the one where I finally had a ring). But I'll admit it has been a LONG time since we drove out there, which is partially because we now have kids, but also because there are many more good restaurants much closer these days.
