I graduated today from Pitt.

I realized that my time in this city is over as I just got a job offer in NYC.

I'll miss the good mom & pop stores and the great food they have

I'll miss Kennywood

I'll miss the bipolar weather

I'll miss all the great and insightful people that came into my life

I'll miss seeing GetGos, Sheets, and Giant Eagles everywhwere.

I'll miss all the funny fan made steelers, pirates, and pens gear....

But most of all, I'm going to miss waking up in the Burgh everyday. Some days sucked, some days ruled...but everyday...I learned something.

Some may say this city is harsh and times, but it hardened me up to take over the world.

I must leave this city to follow my dreams and to do great things. I just want to let this forum now, that no matter what, I'll always bleed black and gold.

If I live in L.A., it'll always be From Pittsburgh, now living in L.A.

If I live in London, it'll always be From Pittsburgh, now living in London

You know what I'm saying!!!???

One day...one day soon...when I make it and I'm on TV or in a magazine or on an internet interview video...I'm going to make it clear that Pittsburgh made me what and who I am today. I might of been many places, but I'll always be Pittsburghs own.

Peace.

As I graduated today, I realized I was blessed.

There are many people who nitpick and say all sorts of nasty things about Pittsburgh, but I have been blessed to of been able to of been born here and do great things here whereas I could of been born somewhere less bearable. I'm thankful for that everyday.

Like they say, if you can make it there (in New York), you can make it anywhere.

And thanks to the Internet, Pittsburgh will only be a click away.

Congratulations!

You'll love NYC too. It's a great place.

I suspect eventually you'll end up back here to raise your family.

In the meantime, enjoy yourself out there in the world!

Best of luck, and enjoy New York! Like Hopes said, you can always come back, or when you do hit the big time, you can have the best of multiple worlds--penthouse on the Upper West Side, villa in Beverly Hills, mansion in Shadyside...

I do know what you mean though. I'm not even a native, but in my four short years at Pitt/in the Burgh I really fell in love with the area. Most of the haters are basing their notions on outmoded stereotypes, and whenever friends from home would visit, they were always shocked that Pittsburgh is a truly nice place. I'd love to come back after lawl skool, but like you, I guess I'll just have to see what kind of options my job offers give me.

Give 'em hell, kid!
