You're going to be so disappointed when you start trolling Pittsburgh's Craig's List. There's crap on there compared to other cities. Pittsburghers are so frugal that they mostly sell junk. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack, but you can luck out and find some great pieces sometimes.

Actually, I've found a gorgeous dining room set that I'm considering. It's just that I really shouldn't be bringing any big pieces in right before I begin the remodel. I'm probably going to pass on it. But you're right, CL here is limited compared to other places. But if I had just completed the remodel I probably would be buying that set.

I found a lot of nice pieces on Craig's List here in Pittsburgh for good prices. I'm not interested in mid-century modern furniture though, it would look pretty out of place in our Victorian house.

I can't wait to see pictures of your place!

Nixon (Omega Ivory).... It looks so much better in person... I never ordered furniture online and was a little apprehensive. I have yet to read a negative review of thrive furniture. The sofa is large and fits the space perfectly.

I like that one. There are some reviews that say certain fabrics they offer don't hold up well over time. But most of the reviewers were very pleased with the furniture. How comfy is your sofa?

Its pretty comfortable considering its a mid century design.... I will have a beeter feel for the couch once the nfl football season starts.....But really.....who cares about comfort...it looks great!!! I thought the fabric would be rough to the touch. To my suprise it very very soft.

Let me know about the comfort factor and the fabric durability after you've had it awhile. Looks are important I agree, but I need comfort too.

I like it, too. Yes, it's pricey. But it's so much better to be able to go somewhere and look at it first, instead taking a chance having something shipped from CA or FL on eBay.

I had a mid-century modern bedroom set when I was a kid. It was very high quality, a master set my parents passed ovr to me when they bought something else for their room. It had a desk that went with it. No idea what happened to it. When I moved out, my mom replaced it with an antique birds eye maple set that was stored in the basement most of my life. I wish I still had the desk part of the set. I sure didn't appreciate it as a teenager. I probably ruined the desk using it for my makeup mirror.
