I don't count anything as a done deal until it actually starts construction (and even then . . .), but for what it is worth, here is a recent interview with the head of Ace where he mentions the development of a hotel in Pittsburgh:

I'd find Micro Center handy at times as well. But most often I can just buy that stuff online. It's only when I find myself needing something immediately that I would go there.

Can't figure out what's so great about Kroger. I've been in that newer one in Weirton right off the Rt 22 exit, but I don't get what's so great about it. Okay, it's been a few years. What is good about this place, except a familiarity of some kind? It's possible that I'm missing something. On one quick visit I didn't immediately get the appeal of Wegmans. I also think it may have been rearranged or remodeled slightly before my next visit. I think people often like the grocery stores they're most used to.

I'd be all for an occasional visit to Pret a Manger or Earl of Sandwich as well, although it's been years since I had the former (and it was in London, and the US version is dumbed down a bit I believe).

I swear on Saturday when I was leaving Hofbrauhaus, the construction site next to it said Park Hyatt coming soon. However, I cannot find any evidence of this online and judging by the other locations of Park Hyatt, I would be surprised if South Side Works next to Hofbrauhaus was their Pittsburgh location.

Can anybody verify what the sign says? Everything online says Hyatt Summerfield Suites.

AH that's it...Hyatt House. I could see how the dark lager made me think Hyatt House = Park Hyatt.

I understand they want to get their main brand on everything without it having to be "Summerfield Suites by Hyatt" or whatever (they actually acquired that one from Wyndham). I think it worked out well with Hyatt Place. But your average person is going to be hard pressed to remember the difference between Hyatt Place and the new Hyatt House. In fact I think they'll be confusing those names a fair bit.
