3 painful final games. At least they have all their prospects and Volquez was only $5m.

Announcers said it best before the game. "With their free agents, it's a do or die season for the Pirates".

Wonder if Bob was watching the game and saw the "Pay Ru$$ell" sign. If he did, I bet he winced and checked his wallet.

I interpreted Russell Martin's tip of his helmet after his last at-bat as a "goodbye" of sorts.

Can't blame him. They're not gonna pay him enough and this team will never win a WS under current ownership. If he wants either of those 2 things, he's certainly not going to be duped into staying here.
