On the other end, I'd propose no district, and ideally no school, should be more than 50% disadvantaged students.

I don't understand? You are very happy with the tons of section 8 housing in East Liberty, but you somehow think you can get those kids to a school with less than 50% disadvantaged students. You attack me, call me all sorts of names because I wanted East Liberty to be more middle and upper middle class as a whole, yet you are wishing for the impossible? There is WAY too much poverty in the city limits as I have stated. City residents with children and means generally send their children to private schools, which will hurt your goal of 50%. Take the government out of the real estate business and let supply and demand dictate an area like East Liberty, you might have had a chance with your 50%.

What is the percentage of disadvantaged students in the Woodland Hills School District? They were number 13th in this wonderful violence list and could be an interesting example.

Yes, I know the feeling. You seem to magically think that all this section 8 being built in East Liberty is helping the problem and then you go on to say, we need all districts to have less than 50% poverty. Who doesn't' understand? Good luck in fantasy land. I think you will need it.

Cranberry is nice if you want to be in your car for everything. City folks always say, oh I can walk to so and so, blah, blah, blah, but 99% of the time city people drive to every destination as well, so sometimes I wonder. Cranberry has boomed over the past several decades and that is mostly due to taxes, safety and it being convenient enough to get in and out of the city. There is no drink tax in Cranberry and the tax load sure is appealing in comparison to those of us that are getting crushed from every angle here in Allegheny County. I love to cycle, so Cranberry isn't the best for that as far as going to grocery or other stores, but some of the back roads are good. Sure is a car lover's area, or in Cranberry's case and SUV lover's area. Another plus side for being up that way is you don't hear about shootings all the time up there. Of course you get Pittsburgh news, so you hear about them everyday down this way.
