But due to it's isolation, I can picture a resident that lived there for 50 years that has never crossed the river to visit the Waterfront.

Cool. Seems like a good location for cyclists!

I did not know that.

I had read the Warhols lived in South Oakland, as well as over on Beeler St., Uptown above the Brady St. Bridge and attended the Byzantine church down in the Run, but I did not know they also lived there too.

I wouldn't have guessed that was a flood zone. I just figured they were on a slope and it would continue on. Guess it must back up there a bit.

Both Dan Marino and Andy Warhol both grew up on Dawson St in South Oakland. I met an old man from that street who remembers both of them as kids.

The Warhols lived on Beelen St, not Beeler. Beeler is near CMU off of Wilkins and Forbes. Beelen is off of Kirkpatrick in the Hill/West Oakland.

Why is Warhol buried in Castle Shannon? I never got that.

It'm pretty sure the actual cemetery is in Bethel park...here is a photo we took of his tombstone a couple years ago. I'm not sure of why it is there...maybe the only cemetery for his church here in Pittsburgh? From what I understand he was quite religious, which surprises some people. I'm pretty sure this is where it is on the map.

Yeah, that intersection is the border of BP, Castle Shannon and Mt Leb. Not sure where the cemetery falls.

A lot of city churches in Pittsburgh have their cemeteries out in the suburbs, that's where the cheap land was when the churches were in the market for it.

Cause he's dead.

Duck Hollow is an interesting place. There aren't many homes there, and it would be a cool little neighborhood if it wasn't a stones throw away from the train tracks.

There was a boat launch built there last year for kayaks and canoes, so along with the bike trail, there are a couple of nice amenities.

There is also a nice view over to the Waterfront.
