My thermometer reads 100 in the shade. My poor A/C is just running nonstop and I am looking forward to winter. This is not a very nice early summer that is for sure. According to the weather.com site we are at 98 right now. We might see the 100 mark. I don't recall being in Pittsburgh when it was 100, but maybe I just don't remember it. It is HOT!

Don't know about today, but I can make a prediction. By Monday, it will cool down a bit. We had high 90s-100s for 15 days, then yesterday, it started cooling off and we got a lot of rain (for Colorado). My brother says you guys get what we have 3 days later.

i think our highest temperature is 103 in 1988. I don't think we will quite hit that, but man we are getting close and is isn't 2:00PM yet.

Pittsburgh International is at 97 as of 2 PM. It's serious possibiliy that it may hit 100, but we may just miss it as if you look at weather.com's radar, thunderstorms are beginning to bloom just to our north (there are only 2 to the north right now, but we'll see how they are in 30 min or so). It would be a shame IMO to end a 17 year streak of no 100 F days in Pittsburgh today (or ever lol)..

If it's this hot, might as well top the century mark and break a record!

So I'm guessing with a 4:05 start today, this will be the hottest game ever at PNC Park?

As of 3 PM it's still 97 at Pittsburgh Intl., but there are showers just to the north of the airport which I leading me to think we will not see 100 today. There's also a storm it looks like around Fox Chapel. Maybe H_curtis can verify for us even though I am headed that way now.

Good news in the forecast though it looks like temperatures will be in the mid 80's all of next week (as of now who knows if that will change).

True story: after reaching 100 degrees several times during the summer of 1936, it was not until the summer of 1988 that the temperature reached 100 degrees again. It's not going to today, thanks to thunderstorms, and there doesn't appear to be any chance of it happening in the next two weeks either.

NWS says it hit 99. I'd say that's close enough!

Darn, it's burning in Chicago as well. I hope I'm greeted in Pittsburgh by better weather by end of the month.
