Yea, really, any company that gives any money to a religious organization should be equally ostraziced & protested against by the so called outraged that popped up overnight to start disliking chic fil a.

Though I'm sure the fad will pass, and I would venture to guess that the whole brooha will result in some politicians looking foolish (as they do now) for their statements, and chickfila recording a record profit year.

Call me crazy, but I don't see what's wrong with being aware of which political donations a company to whom you give your hard earned money donates its profits, be they liberal or conservative. In a best case scenario these corporations would donate to causes that can benefit EVERYONE, but I guess that's asking too much...

Gays do support traditional marriage. It's people like Dan Cathy who do not support gay marriage. Gay people have nothing against traditional marriage, and that is not what is being protested here.

How true. This is one of the funniest threads I have read though. Love2Golf is just sitting back laughing. Yep, all these hate groups, like most all religious organizations (Catholics/Protestants and tons of others), most all US States and heck even our federal government. We are all living in one big "hate group" filled country. That is the latest buzz word until some other news breaks out and everyone runs to that pointing fingers at every tiny thing they can dig up and out of boredom try and make it some big story. What a joke.

Ahhh .... them. Yes, I looked through their webpages the other night. I guess that, for all the smoke, I expected to find a little more fire.

For clarity, we define "hate groups" as any organization that is "anti-(insert cause here), regardless of whether or not they are within their legal boundaries or not. So in the case of the Family Research folks, they've used some sketchy medical studies to base their nasty worded propaganda on.

I've never taken the time to look into how the various churches that I've attended over the years spends their funding, but I can easily guess that some of them provide funds to "traditional family" oriented charities. That would make them, by definition, "hate groups". Interesting thought that I'll have to think about.

Yep. The term "hate group", is anyone that doesn't believe in another's cause. If a person doesn't feel a gay couple should be allowed to adopt children, they are in a "hate group", because they feel children should be with a man and women. Nope, they HATE gays or whatever and are not allowed to have that belief without HATE!

Like I said, this thing is a joke. Good one Love2Golf. You got us. You are the winner of the month!

All I did was deliberately take the exact language used by gays in this thread(homophobe, anti gay hate groups, Chick-Fil-Hate, as well attempted personal slights to me) and then turn it right back around at those people with terms such as heterophobe or anti family hate groups or I used their exact language right back at them.

Of course when I did, they didn't like being on the receiving end. For a group that claims to be so extremely tolerant and accepting(I do not claim that myself), they certainly do not follow through with their actions. If gays themselves are not strongly supportive of traditional marriage, then how can they support gay marriage, if they don't believe in marriage or support it at all? Doesn't add up. If they really were genuine they would strongly back people like Dan Cathy. Instead they trash people that have wives and raise their children.

This is all much a do about nothing. Dan Cathy never made any anti gay comments, never even mentioned gays, they are merely reading into comments and creating their own wild fantasy suppositions because of their self esteem/guilt issues. Ultimately who cares what one private citizen says or does? What Dan Cathy says or does is not going to stop homosexuals from invading other homosexual mens intestinal tracts.

Your lack of a rebuttle is noted. You disappoint me.

The only problem with your comments is that its a documented fact that Cathy has made anti gay comments, and that his corporation has given money to groups in this country that attempt censor any mention in our country of hate crimes committed against homosexuals (by individuals or governments) around the globe (also well documented). These entities are no more 'pro family' than the KKK, as they actively seek to limit the rights of homosexuals.
