Been looking for an inexpensive rental in the South Hills and came across these. Good price and seems like a good neighborhood. Anyone heard anything negative about this complex?

Whitehall Place is just the new name for Prospect Park.

Its always been inexpensive out there, even when I was looking for a South Hills apartment back in the mid 1980's.

It not dangerous or gang ridden, a lot of refugees from Bosnia and Somalia and other places have been settled out there. The Pittsburgh Crime Map thread on this forum doesn't list this part of Baldwin as a crime problem, so if you're cool with a place that is a tad run down, but safe with a fair number of lower income residents, it could work out.

And- good luck telling people how to get there from East Liberty, it is more than a little bit out of the way

Glad to hear that Spam. It's only temporary while we look for a house to purchase. We also have a 13 year old and from what I've read the school district is pretty good.

I also agree that the Pospect Park Apts are perfectly livable if you are able to coincide with living side by side with low income neighbors...
Although, IMO the places to avoid in the South Hills are really just Baldwin's Leland Point Apts & South Park's Parkford Apts and they're not even that bad.
