Default Need some Advice

Back in April my car got totaled when someone broadsided me after running a red light. Not my fault. But it cost me over 2 grand to get things squared away. Fast forward to last night. Someone failed to yield right of way on a state highway for my car during my ride home from work and the end result, some minor injuries and yet again another totaled car. Not my fault.

It seems evident that I need to relocate as soon as I am physically and financially able. I was planning to start looking at houses in September and I'd still like to but now I am beginning to see that my finances won't be as bright as I expected. And now I am also thinking that perhaps I should consider getting out of a car altogether at least at some point in the future and use mass transit.

Is it possible to live in an area like McKees Rocks or New Kensington and still have access to some kind of basic employment opportunities such as restaurant or retail work if I don't have a car? I have to keep in mind that any place I choose must also have a market for my flea powered radio station and single family homes that I can afford.

Your thoughts are appreciated. I am having so much bad luck in Kansas City right now and it seems to have escalated over years past. I really need to make a change before the end of this year whether it be a move to Pittsburgh or one of the other places that I am considering. Thanks.

I am not sure about New Kensington, but McKees Rocks still has a few businesses as well as a fair amount of mass transit options that can get you to the city relatively easily. Anyways, sorry to hear about your experiences and I hope you can call the Pittsburgh area home soon, best of luck

Thanks. There is a real negative vortex surrounding KC and I am not the only person to recognize it. Just got a PM from a guy that used to live here (originally from Minnesota) and said that is precisely why he left.

After looking at the crime maps posted recently for McKees Rocks after I expressed some concern about it, I have come to the conclusion that the entire suburb is not infested with violent crime.
