Doesnt surprise me in the slightest, to some real NYC Snobs NJ is "Out West", and Philly is "Down South"...

It's amazing how ignorant some people are to the world outside of their bubble. Also, so much for the people who say you only find people like that here.

I'll re-echo my "three parts Northeast, two parts Appalachia, one part Midwest" mantra--that's Interior Northeast, as opposed to Coastal.

I associate "Mid-Atlantic" more with the coast than the interior (and if we're going to use it as a cultural designation, it definitely can't accommodate both).

Yeah I love to visit NYC, but I have noticed that many New Yorkers are a little more provincial or insular than they realize.
