This area has plenty of commercial buildings which were "modernized" with porcelainized steel panels in the years after WWII. I pulled several hundred off my building and discarded the vast majority of them (I scrapped the white and kept the rich red colored) years ago. When I was out at the abandoned turnpike, there are hundreds of these panels (a baby blue or green mostly) sitting on the forest floor off to the side of the old Sideling Hill tunnel. The panels are still in amazing shape (thanks to their porcelain exterior) and really just need new caulking to last another 50 years. They mostly measure 24" x 24" or bigger. So, for a tiny house, the number needed wouldn't be that much, they're readily available at scrap yards all over this area and they have a very unique look. They're also, honestly, bulletproof to anything shy of a 30-06 or a .45 at very close range. They were also made with curves to fit around window openings. Just a thought for any local tiny house builders in the area.
Very cool. Could be a real find for DIYers on a budget.
